Pre-clinical Drug Development

Pre-clinical Drug Development

In this section are two sets of resources for pre-clinical drug development. The first is a list of training courses, and the second is a list of possible ways to gain practical experience in the area of pre-clinical drug development.

Before a drug is tested in a clinical trial it undergoes stages of pre-clinical drug development, including pharmacodynamics (the biochemical and physiologic effects), pharmacokinetics (how the body interacts with the drug) and toxicity testing.
