Artificial intelligence

In this section are two sets of resources to increase understanding of Artificial intelligence (AI). The first is a list of resources and training for AI in healthcare (and specifically dermatology where available)and the second is guidance to help you become involved

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a diverse area of computer science that makes it possible for ‘machines’ to learn from new experiences and perform human-like tasks. The development of technologies is moving at a rapid pace and there is immense pressure on the NHS to adopt these technologies within clinical practice. Current regulatory approvals may neither adequately assure patient safety nor provide reassurance that AI is being deployed in areas of greatest clinical need.  Dermatology patient pathways are complex, and clinically led research studies are necessary to develop and evaluate AI interventions to ensure these medical devices are being used safely, legally and ethically.
