BAD Mentoring Platform
This is a free service for BAD members and provides a platform where trainees, SAS doctors, and consultants can become either mentors or mentees (or undertake both roles) across a variety of different categories ranging from career development and chairing meetings, to wellbeing and preparing for retirement.
Whether you have decided to be the mentee or the mentor (or both), the platform, run by our partners PushFar, will suggest a range of the best mentoring matches for you based on your experience, your goals and your areas of focus. There are currently over 100 BAD members registered with the platform and over 40 mentoring relationships have been embarked upon. This video guide explains how to use the platform and get the most out of your mentoring relationship.
Signing up to the platform is quick and easy. First, you need to be logged into your BAD member account. Once you are logged in, the links to access the platform will appear below. If you have any questions, please reach us at membership@bad.org.uk.
I’ve found the PushFar platform easy to use and a good way to formalise some of the mentoring I have been doing with dermatology trainees in the past couple of years. I’ve found mentoring to be an enjoyable and rewarding exercise. I’ve used a combination of in-person and virtual meetings to meet with the trainees who I have mentored and the PushFar platform gives me a base from which to record discussions and arrange future meetings

Navigating through dermatology training as a newly fledged registrar can be daunting, especially if you haven’t had much experience working in the specialty. I found the mentoring experience useful as my mentors were able to provide guidance and direction, especially on career choices and skill development. My mentors were able to offer a more holistic perspective based on their own experiences and this allowed me to make more informed decisions.
