About the British Association of Dermatologists
The British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) is the professional membership body for dermatologists in the UK. A charity dedicated to medical education, research, and professional practice and standards.
The mission of the BAD is to champion dermatology in the UK for the public benefit. This means developing educational content and courses, facilitating and publishing dermatology research, running dermatology registries, holding dermatology events and conferences, promoting innovation in dermatology care, and engaging with decision-makers and stakeholders within the dermatology community and wider health system.
The BAD is led by the Officers and Executive Committee of the BAD, the trustees of the organisation, who are elected by the membership. The senior management team and professional staff of the BAD, supported by the Officers, carry out the day-to-day business of the organisation.
For more information about the aims, objectives and values of the BAD, you can read our about our values, strategy, and our constitution, below.

History
The BAD was established over 100 years ago. This section provides details on the history of the organisation, information on how to access the Willan Library, and access to other historical documents including historical AGMs.
Sub-Committees
The BAD has a number of sub-committees to support the running of the organisation and to contribute to workstreams. We rely on volunteers from the membership, patients, and other experts to contribute to these sub-committees, for which we are very grateful. New sub-committee roles are advertised through member communications and on the website, here.
Elections & Committee Vacancies
Officers, regional representatives, and other Executive Committee roles are elected from the membership. On this page you can see Executive Committee roles which are open for application, set-up alerts for roles which are currently closed, or apply for other voluntary roles at the BAD, including those on sub-committees.
Advertising, Commercial Partnerships & Sponsorship Opportunities
We are always looking for ways in which we can do more to achieve our charitable objectives and increase the value of our work. One of the ways in which we can do this is through support from commercial sponsors or partners. Our most common sponsorship opportunities relate to events and exhibitions, our educational offerings, and awareness campaigns.
Jobs at the BAD

Who We Support
Although we are not generally a grant giving body, as part of our charitable objectives and our commitment to ‘Healthy Skin for All’ we do support some other dermatology organisations and charities.
